Super Lawyers, part of Thompson Reuters, rates outstanding lawyers annually on a state-by-state basis in more than seventy practice areas based on peer nominations and evaluations together with independent research. No more than 5% of lawyers in a given state and practice area receive these awards.

Martindale-Hubbell has been rating attorneys annually for more than 130 years based on legal ability and ethical standards. A rating of AV, the highest of several award levels, is offered to approximately 10% of attorneys who have been practicing more than 10 years and recognizes the recipient as having the highest levels of legal ability and professional ethics in the opinion of peers and clients. Inclusion in the Judicial Edition reflects favorable opinions in these areas by members of the judiciary as well.

For more than 25 years, starting in 1997, Mr. Tatge has annually been awarded the AV rating by Martindale-Hubbel, often in the Judicial Edition. He has been chosen consistently as a Super Lawyer since 2014.
