David B. Tatge Elected Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation

David B. Tatge, PLLC (“the Firm”) is pleased to announce that its member and principal, David B. Tatge, was nominated and elected, in July, 2020, as a Fellow of the American Bar Association Foundation (the “ABF”). According to the ABF, “The Fellows comprise a global honorary society of lawyers, judges, law faculty and legal scholars who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the profession and service to society. Membership is limited to one percent of the lawyers admitted to practice in the United States and its territories and to a limited number of lawyers in international jurisdictions.” Fellows of the ABF support the ABF’s empirical, interdisciplinary research in law and social science that addresses key issues at the intersection of law and society, such as, for example, access to justice, the function of juries, the social costs of mass incarceration, diversity and equal justice, legal education, law and globalization, and many other areas as well.
Mr. Tatge, a practicing attorney since 1986, is a member of the Virginia and District of Columbia bars, and a CPA (Maryland, 1979; presently inactive). He is the lead author of two well regarded law books, AMERICAN FACTORING LAW (Bloomberg/BNA 2009, with 2017 Cum. Supp.) and THE CHAPTER 7 BANKRUPTCY TRUSTEE’S MANUAL (John Wiley & Sons, 1993, with 1995 Cum. Supp.), and co-authored, with Jeremy B. Tatge, a chapter, Early Growth of Factoring In America from 1628 to 1960, in a third book, P. DeVillepin, Ed., FACTORS AND ACTORS (Peter Lang, Brussels, 2018). An elected Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (2012), Mr. Tatge has authored 15 articles on commercial law matters and taught bankruptcy law as an Adjunct Professor at both the George Washington University Law School and the George Mason University School of Law.
